Galleries

The Cultural Arts & Marketing Division has been integral in the development of the Craft & Cultural Arts Gallery and the Oakland Art Gallery. Both these Oakland Civic Center area galleries were established in 2001 to showcase fine art.

There are 4-6 exhibitions annually at each site.  The exhibits feature Oakland and Bay Area artists presenting artwork in a variety of media: sculpture, painting, drawing, etchings, installation photography, video, multi-media and digital arts.

Current events are organized in conjunction with gallery programming.  Exhibition-related events may include poetry reading, performance art, music ensembles, film or video screenings, etc.
