Third Thursdays

Third Thursdays Oakland Art Night was officially launched on Thursday, September 20, 2001.  The Cultural Arts & Marketing Division joined with the Oakland Art Alliance to promote arts activities in Oakland. 

On the Third Thursday of each month, arts patrons can spend the evening enjoying the diversity and quality of art available in some of our Oakland Galleries and Exhibition Spaces.  You can view exhibitions, attend artists' lectures and demonstrations, participate in receptions and other special cultural events.

Almost 23 galleries in the downtown area from Jack London Square to the Rockridge area are participating by keeping their galleries open from 5-8pm on Third Thursdays Oakland Art Night each month. In addition to viewing art, you can listen to live music and dine at restaurants in walking distance of the galleries.  For a map showing the location of participating galleries visit Oakland Art Alliance website.
